Can’t-Leave-Alone Pineapple Habanero Cranberry Sauce

Print Recipe

A bowl of Pineapple Habanero Cranberry Sauce

Pineapple Habanero Cranberry Sauce – doesn’t the name alone make your month water?  Visions of plump, tart, juicy cranberries bursting in your mouth with a hint of Habanero heat and the sweetness of pineapple – yep, this is my new favorite way to make cranberry sauce.

And, it’s so easy!  Yes, cranberry sauce is very easy to make…or should I say “berry” easy?  Silliness aside, cranberry sauce is easy and once you’ve made it, you will never go back to the stuff in the can unless you forget to buy fresh cranberries when they are in season and then can’t find them in the store!

Helpful Tip of the Day

Buy several bags of cranberries when they are in season and store them in the freezer for future use!  That way you’ll have cranberries at the ready to make more Pineapple Habanero Cranberry Sauce or other recipes that call for cranberries.

I love experimenting with versions of cranberry sauce and this season decided to add one of my favorite products to the cranberries – Roasted Pineapple & Habanero Sauce by Robert Rothschild Farms.

Roasted Pineapple Habanero Sauce made by Robert Rothschild Farm

This is my bottle of Roasted Pineapple & Habanero Sauce in my refrigerator.  As you can see, the bottle is half empty.  That’s because I use in all the time in many, many ways – not just as a sauce for chicken or fish.

By the way, this is not a sponsored post from Robert Rothschild Farm.  When I love a product, sometimes I just want to share with readers.  Because if you don’t know about a product, you may never get the opportunity to try the product, right?

I learned about this sauce about 2 years ago from my niece, Tiffany.  It’s available at our local Costco and that’s where I buy it.  But, if you don’t have a Costco nearby, or you simple don’t want to run out to Costco right now because you know you will be several hundred dollars poorer if you do, you can buy it on Amazon!  Here’s a link:  Roasted Pineapple & Habanero Sauce.

2 bottles of Roasted Pineapple & Habanero Sauce

These are really big bottles of Roasted Pineapple & Habanero Sauce – 37 ounces, each.  So, unless you decide to make a big batch of meatballs and dump the sauce over them for a holiday appetizer (which I’ve been tempted to do), this 37-ounce bottle will last you a long time!

By the way, do you like my little serving spoon in the opening photo of Pineapple Habanero Cranberry Sauce, with “The Sweet Life” tattooed (I mean embossed) in the spoon?  It is made by the Mud Pie Company and available on Amazon, too.  It comes with a cute serving bowl and I use both of them all the time.  Love Mud Pie’s stuff – so creative!

Okay, back to Pineapple Habanero Cranberry Sauce…

Pineapple Habanero Cranberry Sauce - bursting with fresh cranberries and a bit of heat!

The only thing difficult about making Pineapple Habanero Cranberry Sauce is remembering to make it in a larger sauce pot.  That’s because the cranberries “pop” as they cook and the mixture will foam when boiling and you don’t want this pot of deliciousness to boil over your pot and make a sticky mess on your clean stove (does this sound like I’ve done this before?  True confession time…).

Did I mention there are only 4 ingredients to this recipe?  That’s how easy it is – 4 ingredients in a pot, bring to a boil, simmer and then store in the refrigerator until ready to use.

Pineapple Habanero Cranberry Sauce isn’t just the perfect accompanyment to turkey.  It’s delicious on chicken, roast beef, pork chops, pork roast, steak – and even on a PB&J sandwich (replacing the jelly, of course; yes, I have eaten this and yes, it is delicious!).

Here’s the recipe for Pineapple Habanero Cranberry Sauce:

Easy and delicious, this cranberry sauce has a subtle bit of heat and sweetness from the pineapple.

  • Yield: 4 cups 1x
  • Category: Condiment
  • Cuisine: American

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1 1/2 cups of Robert Rothschild Farm Roasted Pineapple & Habanero Sauce
  • 12 ounce package of fresh cranberries

Instructions

  1. In a large sauce pot, bring sugar, water and Roasted Pineapple & Habanero Sauce to a boil.
  2. Add cranberries, stir and return to boil.
  3. Reduce heat to low and simmer for 10 to 15 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  4. Remove from heat and cool completely.
  5. Store, covered, in refrigerator until ready to use.

Notes

Be sure to use a large sauce pot with plenty of head room. Cranberries will “pop” and mixture foam when boiling.
