Cute and easy ham steaks in a fun vampire bat shape for your Halloween breakfast!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 12 1/2 to 3 pound thick-sliced ham steak
  • Vampire bat cookie cutter

Instructions

  1. Remove ham steak from wrapping and discard juices.
  2. Lay ham steak on chopping board.
  3. Using your vampire bat cookie cutter, cut out bat shapes as close together as possible to use as much of the ham steak as possible (you will have to press down firmly to cut through the ham; if that isn’t working for you, use a small paring knife to score around the cookie cutter as you press down with the other hand).
  4. Reserve leftover ham for another use, such as Creamed Potatoes with Ham and Petite Peas.
  5. Place vampire bat wings in a non-stick skillet and warm over medium-low heat for a few minutes, turning once to heat both sides.
  6. Remove from skillet and serve.

Notes

You can also heat your vampire bat wings in the microwave. Just place in a microwave safe dish and heat for 1 minute. Then check and heat for another minute, if needed. Also, these can be cut out ahead of time. Just store in the refrigerator overnight. And, these can be made ahead and frozen. Just defrost overnight in the refrigerator or place the frozen bat wings in a non-stick skillet and reheat on low until warmed through.
