Easy and delicious – the perfect size for a “small bites” party!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 12 Christmas apples, also known as Lady Apples
  • 12 wooden skewers with a sharp point
  • 1 11 ounce bag of Kraft Caramels
  • 2 tablespoons water

Instructions

  1. Wash apples in cold, clean water and dry apples thoroughly.
  2. Insert wooden skewer in the top center of each apple and set aside.
  3. Line a baking tray with wax paper; grease paper with butter or canola oil.
  4. Unwrap caramels and place in small sauce pan.
  5. Add 2 tablespoons of water and heat over medium-low heat, stirring constantly.
  6. Continue to cook, stirring constantly, until all caramels are melted and sauce is smooth.
  7. Remove from heat and using skewer, dip each apple in sauce pan to coat, twirling apple to cover all side (you may need to tilt the pot, too).
  8. Let excess caramel drip from apple.
  9. Scrape bottoms of apples with a butter knife.
  10. Place on prepared pan leaving a few inches between each apple.
  11. Refrigerate one hour.
  12. Remove from refrigerator and let stand at room temperature for 15 minutes before removing from cookie sheet.
  13. Serve.

Notes

Prep time includes refrigerator time and letting apples sit at room temperature for 15 minutes. Actual prep time is about 20 minutes.
