With a delicious, spicy Bacon Jalapeno Chutney center, these little burgers pack a wallop of flavor!

Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground turkey
  • 6 slider buns
  • 1/4 cup Bacon Jalapeno Chutney
  • 1 yellow onion, peeled and thinly sliced
  • 3 slices Blue Marble Jack Cheese (or a combination of Jack and Blue crumbles)
  • 4 tablespoon butter
  • 1 teaspoon canola oil
  • Mustard, mayonnaise, ketchup

Instructions

  1. Divide ground turkey into 6 portions and flatten each portion into a burger patty.
  2. Place 1 tablespoon Bacon Jalapeno Chutney into center on each patty.
  3. Bring up side of patty to cover chutney, shape and flatten to slider diameter (about 3 inches each).
  4. Place on a waxed paper-lined plate or tray and refrigerate until ready to cook.
  5. Heat canola oil in non-stick skillet and add onions; cook over medium heat, stirring occasionally until caramelized (about 30 minutes).
  6. Keep onions warm.
  7. Melt butter in microwave or on stovetop.
  8. With a pastry brush, brush each side of each bun with butter; set aside.
  9. Heat grill, grill pan or skillet on stovetop.
  10. Remove prepared turkey sliders from refrigerator and place on preheated grill, pan or skillet.
  11. Cook about 3 minutes.
  12. Turn over and place 1/2 slice of cheese on each patty.
  13. If cooking in a grill pan or in a skillet, add 1/2 cup water and cover with lid.
  14. Steam patties for a few minutes until cheese melts.
  15. Remove patties from grill, pan or skillet to a plate.
  16. Wipe out grill pan, carefully, with a paper towel and return to heat.
  17. Add buns, face down (butter side down) to grill pan and grill for a few minutes (watch carefully); remove from heat.
  18. Place patty on bottom of each bun, add caramelized onions on each and cover with top of bun.
  19. Serve with ketchup, mustard and mayonnaise.
