Not-So-Scary Young Frankenstein’s Fingers

Young Frankenstein's Fingers cover

Okay, okay, okay – Young Frankenstein’s Fingers aren’t really a “recipe” because you don’t need to add anything to the little sausages!  But, I’m filing it under “recipes” so that when searching for Halloween food ideas it pops up!

This all started with my adorable Young Frankenstein candy dish.  I know I got it at the grocery store (that’s where I find so much of this cute Halloween stuff) and I even think I got some kind of a deal on it – like buy two Halloween greeting cards and get this cute candy dish for a ridiculous low price.  And, I have used him for candy, but it turns out he’s the perfect size for serving Young Frankenstein’s Fingers because a whole package of the Lil’ Smokies brand (from Hillshire Farms) will fit nicely on top of his head!

I made these the other night for dinner after our trip to the pumpkin patch.  I wanted an easy “kid-friendly” menu that we could throw together after a fun-filled (and exhausting) afternoon trip to the pumpkin patch and these are always a hit.  Everyone in my family loves these little sausages, particularly the cheddar cheese variety.  That’s what you see oozing out of Young Frankenstein’s Fingers – bits of cheddar cheese.

I made two 14-ounce packages of Young Frankenstein’s Fingers and there were none left!  There were 5 adults and two young children and even though we had plenty of other food, not.a.one of these Young Frankenstein’s Fingers escaped uneaten!  I cook them in boiling water on the stove top for a few minutes, but you can microwave them or even cook them in the oven.  By the way, this isn’t a sponsored post for Hillshire Farms.  I wasn’t compensated financially or with free products.  I just wanted to share something that my family loves, plus I wanted to show off my cute Young Frankenstein!
