“Tis the Season to be…”
“It’s the Most Wonderful Time Of the Year…”
The songs are the same year after year, but as I get older and now that I’m a mother, I hear them in a different tune. This is the song that came to mind tonight for me…
“Tis the season…”
*to have more than usual to do, but have no extra time…
*to have more things to buy, but no extra money…
*to eat, drink and be merry, but don’t step on the scale-SCARY!
“It’s the most wonderful time of the year…”
*enjoy the special moments
*be enchanted by the lights on all the houses
*believe in the MAGIC and feel the SPIRIT of the season!
I try to be “the glass is half full” kind of girl, so even though my spirit is a little late to the party this year, I’m finally starting to feel it.
I may not have time to send out Christmas cards this year, but there is always a chance for New Year’s Cards. I may not have the extra money to go on a wild Christmas shopping spree, but I am certainly eating, drinking and starting to feel merry! The scale…I’ll just use my best judgment and wait to meet with that old thing after I enjoy a couple more weeks of indulgence that comes this time year.
The magic that radiates through my Princesses P has me excited to decorate, sing Christmas songs, bake and enjoy goodies, write letters to Santa and embrace the belief and the joy of their innocence.

Saturday morning…..Yesterday (and the day before) for me were very busy, so I didn’t read this post until after the “Broken Hearts” post and the tragedy of Friday morning. What to say? I know you are a fabulous mom and a strong person, so please, please try to keep up the “holiday spirit” for your daughters. It’s still a great time of year, and the “reason for the season” will help us all heal from the pain of the tragedy. We need to allow God and Jesus back into our schools. We still say the pledge at my school; “one nation under God”. Be strong! Peace be with you!

Thank you Dawn. We have an amazing family that has provided a lot of morals and role models and we are very lucky! Thank you for your words of encouragement.
