This is my car, “Petunia, the Picking Pilot” on a day the girls and I hit a couple of garage sales.
Confession:
I’m an “obsessor”. To clarify, I am always at one moment/day/week/month, obsessed with something and when I’ve satisfied my “obsession” (possibly could be acknowledged as an “itch”), I move on to something else. But, there is always something and I have a husband and a best friend (who happens to be a therapist) to back me up on this.
Well…currently and hopefully permanently, I find myself as an “accidental picker” or maybe a “glorified dumpster diver”? I suppose this stems from my shopaholic tendencies in the course of a terrible economy and my need to find a way to “shop” without digging our financial hole any deeper.
Where did it all start? Well, I’ve been a fan of Craigslist for some time and have recently been a frequent buyer; but even more, a frequent seller! In addition, I have started to be a regular at a local consignment shop and local area thrift stores.
My favorite source for buying and selling…the Craigslist iPhone app. I’m always looking for the item I’m trying to replace or update in my home or what I can get for next to nothing and sometimes free to turn around and sell for profit. This has been a great success for me and is quickly becoming a valuable skill! I am an accidental picker and loving it!

Tiff, you should write a post about painting everything. You had me enthralled at your home the other day with all your updates with just a coat (or two) of paint. Just an idea.

I’m sure “DooDaa” would love to have it. We were just talking about that trip the other day and the “CMoore and DooDaa” days. Loved this story. I’ve lately become a huge fan of American Pickers on the History Channel. Have you watched it. They find the most interesting places to do their picking. I like you living room table. Happy Picking. And tell the princesses Hello. Love, Dawn
