Signs of Spring

Hummingbird in a Jacaranda Tree

Hummingbird in one of our Jacaranda Trees

Spring is my favorite time of year and Signs of Spring are everywhere in our garden.  I’m a flower nut fan and if I had my way (and unlimited amounts of money), our entire 8-acre property would be planted in nothing but flowering plants and trees.

What about bees, you’re thinking?  I’m not afraid of no stinkin’ bees!  Even those gigantic wood-boring bees  flying around our property lately that look like fat black Hindenburg blimps with their distorted bodies overloading their wings’.  At first, I thought they were killer bees from African (or Mars) or something (they’re so big!); until my husband, Charlie, set me straight.  They’re Carpenter Bees.  Geez – another pest to worry about?  First gophers, then swallows and now Carpenter bees?

Anyway, I don’t garden.  I have a garden, but I don’t do anything to it.  I used to garden almost every weekend until the fire.  Now, no time in my “toot sweet” life to do anything with or for my garden except walk around it and take pictures of it.  But, somehow, my garden manages to bring me joy with me giving nothing in return.  Mother Nature taking over where Auntie Carole has left off.  The Universe and Mother Earth aligning to bring me peace, solitude and happiness when life overwhelms.  I’m grateful (even to the stinkin’ bees – cuz without them, I wouldn’t have these flowers!).

Enjoy the show!

So, that’s today’s show!  All of these photos were taken with my new fancy, dancy Nikon DSLR 3200 camera that I got for Christmas!  I still don’t know what I’m doing with this camera, so the fact that it captured these amazing photos is strictly a credit to this great camera!
