The above photo is Mouse Island in Killarney National Park, Ireland. I chose this photo (that I took on a trip to Ireland in 2007) for the post, Nothing Ventured, Nothing Gained, which posted one year ago today. I chose it because as a new blog, one feels like a tiny little island in the middle of a giant sea! Mouse Island is pretty cute, don’t you think? And, appropriately named!
You may notice that we have eight nine categories on the right side of our blog called the sidebar. These 8 9categories are our attempt to bring organization and structure to our blog, but also brand the “Sweet” in our name. Those categories are:
- Sweet Eats – all recipes
- Sweet Home – decluttering, emergency planning, gardening, green living, health and wellness, housekeeping, The Eldercare Diaries, The Mommy Diaries, time management
- Sweet Ideas – children’s stories, crafts, decorating, hobbies, parties, Pinterest Interest, tablescapes
- Sweet Life – family, pets, sweet memories
- Sweet Nothings – posts that don’t fit in any other category
- Sweet On – innovations, inspirations, inventions, opportunities, reviews
- Sweet Spot – adventures, nature, travel
- Sweet Talk – holiday wishes, in remembrance, motivational and inspirational quotes
- Sweet Things – anything we like that we want to share
One year ago today, we launched the post, Nothing Ventured, Nothing Gained, under our Sweet On category. About our blogging adventure, it was really our first update on the growth of our blog.
On that same day, we launched another post under our Sweet Talk category called A #2 Pencil.
