One Year Ago Today – 3 Posts in 3 Different Categories

Yesterday, I introduced this new series, One Year Ago Today.  Since we are still a new blog finding our way, we thought it would be fun to resurrect the early days of blogging by revisiting past posts for the next year.  One Year Ago Today we had 3 posts in 3 different categories:

  • Sweet Eats – our recipes category
  • Sweet Nothings – the area of our blog where we put any post that doesn’t fit in any of the other categories
  • Sweet Talk – inspirational and motivational quotes, holiday greetings and remembrances

Our very first recipe post was GuacaMolly.  Why do I call it GuacaMolly instead of Guacamole?  Well, you’ll have to read the post to find out {grin}!  Why did I choose this recipe as the very first recipe to publish?  Because, the day before, we launched our blog and the very first post was A Boy Named Coco and Molly, one of my nieces is New York, was the very first person to comment on our blog and she posted a comment on A Boy Named Coco.  Now, you’ll have to read that post if you are interested in why we have a male cat named Coco and what Molly said, but Molly was instrumental in the naming process along with her brother.

So, in honor of Molly posting the very first comment, I launched GuacaMolly on 7-29-2012.

Here’s a picture:

So, then I launched our very first inspirational and motivational quote.  Dreams was solely picked because the author name’s is Molly.  Molly Baker.  So, you can see I was in the mood to focus on my Molly because she was the first commenter!

Here’s a picture from Dreams:

And, lastly, I launched a post called A Picture is Worth a 1,000 Words.  I wrote that post pretty quickly in about an hour.  I was solely inspired by a picture that Tiffany had texted to me from the beach of Princess P in the sand.  The look on her face says it all!  Here’s the picture:

This marvelous picture was taken by Princess P’s grandfather (Tiffany’s father), a professional photographer with an iPhone.  Poppa Z, has he is known by his grandchildren, is a gifted talent – even with an iPhone.

Here are the links to these three posts – One Year Ago Today – 3 Posts in 3 Different Categories:

Please note:  we (Tiffany and I) aren’t going to go back through our blog and take new (and better) pictures of our recipes or other things.  Why?  Because we think it will be fun to always see how we’ve grown, improved and changed through the years.  We have, though, resized the pictures to fit better on the blog, plus placed our website address on our pictures (instead of a copyright emblem; we’d rather people visit our website and know how to get there than worrying about people stealing our photos!).

Hope you enjoy the trip down memory lane!
