First, a disclaimer: I don’t live in Poway, California, so I’m not shamelessly self-promoting my neighborhood! But, I like Poway. In fact, it’s probably safe to say that I love Poway {grin}. A small incorporated city within San Diego County, Poway has the distinct advantage of being located almost smack dab in the middle of San Diego County! Located about 30 miles from the coast, Poway is surrounded by various neighborhoods within San Diego city limits.
It’s slogan is “The City in the Country” and that slogan truly captures the old-time feeling of this town. Old Poway Village is a retail strip shopping center located in central Poway, across the street from Old Poway Park and I thought it was perfect to feature today, Small Business Saturday.
Old Poway Village isn’t really old at all. But, the buildings were built to look old (or older), adding to the quaint ambiance of this part of Poway. Colorfully painted, Old Poway Village reminds us – as we drive by – to slow down, take a deep breath and savor the small things in our toot sweet lives. With a roster of small business occupying these picturesque storefronts, it epitomizes what Small Business Saturday is all about! The guys sitting outside at Café Lily in the photo above, waved to me when I took this picture!
With plenty of parking, either in front or across the street in a larger parking lot, the little shops, stores and business operations in Old Poway Village are easy to access.
So, the next time you visit Poway, be sure to stop by Old Poway Village and show these small businesses some love!
Tootles,
