How was your Mother’s Day?
Mine was very nice, in fact, that’s why I like to refer to the day after as a hangover, and not an alcohol induced hangover!
My Mother’s Day unofficially started on Friday. At Princess P’s school they had “Muffins with Mom” bright and early! This was a nice treat and special for my girl; she was so excited about it!
A few hours later I attended a “Mother’s Day Tea” at her school with several very cute and sweet songs performed by nearly 30 kindergarten kids. Adorable can’t even describe it!

Yesterday I got to sleep peacefully until 8:15 a.m.! This is incredible in a house where a 5-year-old and a 3-year-old live. Not only did I get to peacefully sleep in, I also got all kinds of morning cuddles and love from my girls, husband and furry babies! A mommy can get used to this!
A couple of hours later we headed to my parents house, where the men of the family prepared a delicious brunch for all the mommys of the family. It was a great spread of scrambled eggs, bacon, brown sugar bacon, cinnamon rolls, chocolate covered strawberries, muffins and of course Mimosa’s!
It was a great day!

Now the Mother’s Day Hangover…
- I want this treatment daily…back to reality?!?! This is some BULL S*!T!
- Why am I awake so EARLY?? Where is my sleep-in, morning snuggles and coffee, breakfast, etc…made by others?? This should be my reality!
- Alarm=NOT GOOD!
- Wake up kids=NOT FUN!
- Get TWO little girls ready for school, make lunches, shower (maybe), feed pets…by 7:15 a.m.?!?!?!?!
This is a hard pill to swallow!
How was your Mother’s Day? Do you have a Mother’s Day hangover? I’d love to hear about your special day in the comments!

I totally know what you mean! My Mother’s Day started on Friday and went through the weekend. Monday was hard to back in the swing of things with all the laundry, dishes and cleaning that needed to get done.
(PS – Welcome to the Social Fabric Community!)

Samantha, thanks for the warm welcome into the Social Fabric Community! I seriously feel like it took me a week to get back on track and catch up after being spoiled for Mother’s Day! We Mother’s deserve it though! 😉
I don’t think today was a Mother’s Day hangover for me. It was just a typical Monday. I had to go to work and get up as usual. I suppose if I had got some more pampering, I might feel differently. I am jealous of your 8:15am wake up though. I think mine was 6am, and I heard the hubby snoring as I got up with the kid.
The hubby snoring as you wake is the worst! On Mother’s Day you should be the one snoring!
My mother’s day was great. I got to spend the day before with my 3 grand kids (fun, fun, fun) and on mother’s day, someone else hosted the event and all my children were there with special gifts and cards. It was a very great day. My hang over is a very quiet house and missing the family already. — Anna
Anna I’m so glad you had such a great time. It’s so nice that you can all be together.
