“When you wake up in the morning, Pooh,” said Piglet at last, “what’s the first thing you say to yourself?”
“What’s for breakfast?” said Pooh. “What do you say, Piglet?”
“I say, I wonder what’s going to happen exciting today?” said Piglet.
Pooh nodded thoughtfully. “It’s the same thing,” he said. ― A.A. Milne
Some days are just good, really good. Today is one of my good days; this is saying a lot since it’s not even noon yet and I had declared this to be a “Good, good day” around 9:30am!
My dad called and asked the girls and I to come over for breakfast. He makes the best bacon and eggs! For some reason food always seems to taste better when it’s made with love by someone else! At 8am we headed over (two whole miles away) in jammies and bedhead for some quality time at Grams’ and Poppa’s. Little did I know this would be the start of an excellent Friday.
As Grams got ready for work, the Princesses P, Poppa and I ate our delish breakfast of fried eggs, brown sugar bacon and peanut butter toast! (My dad and I are peanut butter’s biggest fans and trying to instill the love for it on the girls too). I was happy. Just plain ol’ happy.
It was time for Grams to leave for work. As she was saying her goodbyes, her phone rang. It was my brother, Joe, calling from Arizona. She put him on speaker phone so she could gather all her belongings as she said hi. The next thing I know, Grams is crying happy tears as Joe tells us he is moving back to California in the next month or two!! This is news we have been hoping for over the past couple years…that Joe, his wife Elizabeth and my first nephew, JCB would eventually be able to move home where we would all be together again! I am beyond excited, full of joy and keep finding myself jumping up and down saying “today is a good, good day!”
My Princesses P get to grow up with their cousin. Isn’t he the cutest?
