Nutrient Dense and Delicious Green Smoothie

Green Smoothie

The Green Smoothie has become a favorite way for me to start my day off.  I know, I know…Green Smoothie just doesn’t sound or look like the first thing you might want in the morning, but just trust me, when have I led you astray when it comes to things tasting good?

Aside from tasting good, The Green Smoothie is a very healthy breakfast for those of us with very little time in the morning to make healthy eating a priority.

I don’t know about you, but if I start my day off eating something that is good for me, it’s easier to make better choices the rest of the day.

As I have shared in recent posts, The Dailey Method: An Unexpected Love Affair and Mommy Diary Monday: Taking Care of Me, I am currently participating in a 60 Day Challenge to a lifestyle change through The Dailey Method Rancho Bernardo/Poway.

Part of this challenge is to follow a mostly plant-based diet.  The Green Smoothie has been a staple for me during the past 6 weeks, providing nutrition that I can take with me on the go that actually fills me up and keeps me fueled long enough to get through my mornings, which 3-4 days a week are spent in a Dailey Method class.

Compliments of The Dailey Method 60 Day Challenge Cookbook, here is the recipe for The Green Smoothie, my new favorite breakfast.

I love kale in smoothies. I too have heard a lot about Chia seeds. I’ll have to try them sometime soon!

I’ve been hearing about the benefits of chia seeds. I have almost all of those ingredients at home, so I may actually try it!

Try it and I bet the First Mate will like it too!! I have been out of the ingredients and have craved it. Today I had to make a different variation.
