We’re having a party! Did I mention we’re having a party? Oh, yes; I guess I did! We are having a Blog-o-versary Party to celebrate our first year as a blog and these Easy Party Favors Featuring You are all about featuring you, by promoting your business in a fun and easy way! We want our party guests to go home with a little gift and we wanted the gift to help brand and promote our blog. But, we also didn’t want to spend too much money, because as a business, we’ve made very little money and are still operating in the red! So, what to do? What to do?
Well, who doesn’t love chocolate? And, we already have tons and tons of business cards. So, I purchased those sweet little organza treat bags in the wedding section at Michael’s and easy, peasy – instant party favors featuring the two of us!
You know what it’s like when you think you have something and look and look and look for it and then realize you don’t have it? Well, that happens to me all the time because we lost our home in the 2007 wildfire. So, I thought I had a single hole punch and looked everywhere for it and then realized that I probably don’t have one, but used to have one before the fire! Well, I have a two-hole punch, so that works just fine!
So, I looked at both the front and back of our business cards to determine where the best place was going to be for the hole. After all, I didn’t want to make a hole in our faces (on both the left and right top of the front of the card) plus I didn’t want to punch out any important information on the back (like our names or our email addresses or our website address!). Once I was in the “all clear”, I punched a whole in the bottom of the card. I was actually able to punch three at a time (our cards are nicely weighted and thicker than normal business cards).
Hole punched in area so there is no missing information!
Then I added Hershey’s kisses to each of the little blue organza treat bags. Did you notice that we’ve chosen pale baby blue and silver as the colors for our party? That’s because our website (blog site) is grey and light blue. Our website is sort of a dusty light blue, but the closest we could find in treat bags was this pale baby blue…so pretty!
Then you just pull on the ends of the ribbons to tighten the bag up!
Then you add the business card by stringing the business card’s hole through the ribbon.
Then tie it once to secure the card.
Then tie it in a little bow!
Repeat until you have made as many as you need!
I’ve been looking for photo props to make my photos more interesting. I found this beautiful little footed tray at a Goodwill store! I love the aged patina and haven’t decided yet whether or not to polish it because I love the way it looks unpolished in these photographs. But, I’ll probably break down and polish it soon because if I don’t, it will further corrode and I don’t want that to happen!
All done! Now wasn’t that easy! This is such an easy way to promote a business. If you are going to a conference or seminar where you exchange business cards with groups of people, wouldn’t you be memorable if you handed out your business card with a bag of chocolate? I think so! Also, I think this would be a great idea for wedding favor or treat bags. Instead of a business card, create a “calling card” or at “at home” card with both the bride and groom’s picture on one side and their address and phone number on the back.
Stay tuned for more easy and fun party ideas…

I love those! They are so adorable, Carole. I really love chocolates and I think most of us do. I believe that putting on those calling cards with the bag of chocolates is a perfect idea for people to grab it.

Well, thank you, Rita! I think if you are in any industry that requires promotions (sales), giving someone a small bag of chocolates attached to your business card would make you memorable! A guy I used to work with maybe homemade chocolate cookies and would take them in to prospects. It certainly got him past the receptionists when he bribed them with cookies (haha!)! Thanks for the comment and glad you enjoyed the post!
