I love decorating our dining room table for the holidays! We are having family over this weekend, so I’m decorating the table for an Easter celebration!
I used the word “decorating” as in present tense instead of “decorated” (past tense) because I’ve been decorating it for days and keep changing things, adding things, taking things off! And, who knows – before this weekend is here, it might be completely different! A woman’s prerogative, you know, to change her mind…
Here’s what I’ve done, so far for our Easter celebration:
Blue is my favorite color. I have a small collection of tin birdhouses, so I got those out and put them on the table.
Round blue placemats substitute for chargers. We are having 11 people for our Easter celebration and I have 12 placemats – just enough! And, I had just enough of these blue and green plaid napkins. I used my cream-colored dinner plates and placed the napkin on top. Then, I added clear blue salad/dessert plates and a favor bag full of candy. The blue goblets I’ve had for years, so I added them to the table. Then, I loaded the center of the table with most of my Easter collection of knick-knacks.
Here are the treat bags up close.
This cloche used to have a plant in it. I killed it. I think I’ve mentioned that in an earlier post {grin}. Anyway, it was just lying around waiting to be stuffed with plastic Easter eggs and blue grass.
I have quite a collection of chenille chicks – I haven’t a clue how I’ve ended up with so many, but I had to use some of them. The Princesses P are coming over and aren’t the holidays about the magic in a child’s eyes? I also have two of these cute Easter egg trees.
These are the big chicks.
And, these are the little chicks.
Oh, and I love these straw bunnies! I got them at World Market a couple of years ago!
Here’s a place setting before I decided to make placecards.
Here are the placecards I made. Check out my post, How to Make Easter Placecards for Your Holiday Table in PicMonkey to learn how. There’s a FREE printable involved.
The table is coming together…
Such cute little bunnies!
Then I got a bee in my bonnet and decided to tie ribbons on the chairs!
These birds belonged to my aunt. When she moved into assisted living a few years ago, she gave them to me. They are in front of her place setting! I think she’ll like that {grin}.
This is a strange little curiosity I found at an antique store years ago and gave to my aunt as a gift. She gave it back to me when she moved into assisted living.
Hope I inspired you with my fun and whimsical table for our Easter celebration. Feel free to share on Pinterest and other social media! Happy Easter!

I love the entire table scape but I think I just fell in love with your little bunnies! How cute are they! I love Easter & all of it’s colors. I’m stopping by from the link up & I hope your having a great day!
Thanks so much, Leslie! Those bunnies are the cutest things, aren’t they? I found a new, similar one this year to add to the collection. He’s riding a “carrot-mobile” and it’s too cute for words!
