Confession: I am a procrastinator. A Procrastinating Party Planning Mama to be exact.
I have always been a procrastinator, as if that added stress makes me do better at whatever task is at hand. Now that I’m a grown up, wife and mom, I realize that this weakness only adds stress and does not better my end result.
I CAN’T GET IT TOGETHER AND NOT PROCRASTINATE!!! HELP!!!
Okay so maybe I should stick this under my New Year’s Resolutions.
Saturday my baby, Princess Sweetie Pie turns three. I can’t believe it, how does the time go so fast, although in some ways I feel like she has been around longer than three years. Weird.
I’m in full-blown “Party Planning Mode” this week. In other words, this whole week I will be in a frenzied panic doing everything under the sun for this birthday party.
While it may sound silly, this party stuff is important to me, even if it’s just for a three-year old. I like to make a big deal of birthdays and people I love. Oh, and it’s fun, even if I seem completely stressed out.
Tiffany’s Party Planning Confessions:
-
I spend way too much time on Pinterest planning all sorts of great ideas for my parties, leaving very little time to make a pin-worthy party!
-
I always decide that before a party would be the absolute best time to rearrange furniture and/or redecorate the house (or at least parts of it), leaving real party prep to the very last-minute.
-
All I can focus on is the upcoming event, leaving most other areas of my life neglected…example: the mountains of laundry that are taunting me as I type this.
-
I usually spend way too much money (shhhh…don’t tell the husband)!
- This whole process becomes an obsession until the party is over, thankfully I only do this a few times a year!
Here are a couple of the past parties I have done for my girls; they were pretty awesome if I do say so myself…
How do you make party planning easier? Do you have some great party ideas? We would love to hear about them in the comments!
