Sometimes I get lucky and really capture the moment with my iPhone. It’s not always a clear image, but the feeling is there. This is Carole’s Christmas Surprise.
Carole is a very passionate person about all things that she loves and enjoys and often puts others before herself. She is loved and adored by many, but probably nobody more than her husband, Charlie.
My Uncle Charlie has a gruffness about him, and seems rough around the edges, but underneath all that he is a total teddy bear, if he loves you, and oh boy, does he love his wife.
Most days Charlie harasses Carole and I about how we spend too much money (and he has a right to, although we are working on this), but it’s mostly in a playful way.
Carole has dreamed of a nice digital camera for months. She wants to learn photography and have superior pictures for our blog. She has wanted to learn photography for a long time, but rarely gets to spend time doing things she wants to do for herself.
At a recent family lunch for Samantha’s birthday at the Chicken Pie Diner Charlie asked me to help him with Carole’s Christmas present. With my dad being a professional photographer, I was indeed the perfect elf to help get the mission accomplished.
If only I could put into words the meaning of this gift. Carole never expected this from Charlie, she was completely surprised. The moment was wonderful, the emotion was raw. This Christmas Surprise meant so much to both of them.
I can’t wait to see Carole’s art through the lens of this new camera that I know she will be so passionate about. She has already taken thousands of photos trying to learn all that it has to offer!
Be sure to check back to and see the photography on our blog evolve; you will not be disappointed!
