Heavenly Banana Cream Cutie Pies

Banana Cream Cutie Pies

Banana Cream Pie…what’s not to love?  Mini Banana Cream Pies…even better!

I have always been a big fan of this dessert, especially during warmer weather.  I know it’s officially fall now, but where we live we are still seeing temperatures in the 90’s, so this was a very light and refreshing dessert that I brought to a family dinner recently.  And a kid pleaser, too!

Banana Cream Cutie Pies tutorial

  1. Gather all your ingredients.
  2. Prepare pudding according to package directions.
  3. Layer the banana slices in the bottom of each mini pie crust shell.
  4. Cover bananas with the pie filling.
  5. Top with a heap of cool whip or whipped cream, garnish with a slice of banana and sprinkle with mini chocolate chips.
  6. Banana Cream Cutie Pies!

Yesterday I went to visit Carole and brought a few of these Cutie Pies along for a surprise treat.   My Uncle Charlie (Carole’s hubby) loves Banana Cream Pie; it’s his all-time favorite pie, so he was the true taste tester!  He gave me the thumbs up and loved them!

The perfect little single serving treat! This is a mini version of a banana cream pie and is very easy to make.

  • Author: Tiffany from Toot Sweet 4 Two
  • Prep Time: 20 mins
  • Total Time: 20 mins
  • Yield: 12 1x
  • Category: Dessert
  • Cuisine: American

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 small (1 ounce) package of instant banana cream flavor pudding mix
  • 1 3/4 cups whole milk
  • 4 bananas, peeled and sliced
  • 12 mini graham cracker pie crusts
  • 1 small (8 ounce) tub of Cool Whip topping
  • 1/2 cup mini chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. In a mixing bowl with an electric mixture, prepare pudding according to package directions using whole milk.
  2. With a spatula, fold in half the tub of Cool Whip to the pudding mixture.
  3. Place slices of banana in the bottom of each mini pie crust, reserving 12 slices for the top of the Cutie Pies.
  4. Cover the bananas with the pudding and Cool Whip mixture.
  5. Add a heaping spoonful of remaining Cool Whip to the top of each Cutie Pie.
  6. Place one slice of banana in the middle of each Cutie Pie and sprinkle each with mini chocolate chips.
  7. Refrigerate until ready to serve.

Notes

When making the miniature Cutie Pies, there will be leftover filling. Spoon into dessert cups and refrigerate. Also, this recipe will make one 9″ pie, if using a whole pie crust instead of the mini graham cracker pie crusts.

Can these be made the day ahead and the sliced bananas still look good when eaten?

Sorry, Heidi, but I don’t know! I’ve never made them a day ahead of time. I would think it would be fine, especially if you used perfectly ripe bananas and NOT bananas that were just past their prime. If you try it, let me know how it turns out and I’ll update the recipe. Thanks!
