Elegant Black-Tie Bacon Jalapeno Chutney Bites

Print Recipe

Bacon Jalapeno Chutney Bites close-up

Last week, I introduced readers to the decadently delicious Bacon Jalapeno Chutney! Bacon Jalapeno Chutney, while a condiment, has many potential applications and as an appetizer, Bacon Jalapeno Chutney Bites are a simple, last minute hors d’oeuvre that can be put together in a few minutes.

By making Bacon Jalapeno Chutney a few days before your next party, all you need to do is choose a crunchy and delicious cracker, slather it with softened cream cheese or whipped cream cheese and add a dollop of chutney and voila’, Bacon Jalapeno Chutney Bites!

Sweet and savory, this appetizer covers all bases:  a cracker for the crunch factor, cream cheese for the smooth and creamy delicate texture, the sweet and salty combination of  bacon and caramelized onions AND the chewy texture of the bacon PLUS the punch of heat from the jalapeno.  What’s not to love?

I love the Cracked Black Pepper Wafer Thins made by Open Nature.  This is not a sponsored post, I just like them.  Because they are so thin, 100 come in a box!  So, they are perfect for party appetizers and chances are you won’t run out.  On top of that, they are packed nicely and breakage is at a minimum, leaving plenty of usable crackers for appetizers.  Open Nature makes several flavors but the Cracked Black Pepper are my favorite and I think they are the perfect complement for Bacon Jalapeno Chutney Bites.

Even if you aren’t having a party, Bacon Jalapeno Chutney is easy to make and keep handy in your refrigerator.  Then, when a snack-attack hits, make a few Bacon Jalapeno Chutney Bites just for yourself!  Yum!

These are good hot or cold.  What I mean is that you can slather the cream cheese with cold Bacon Jalapeno Chutney straight from the refrigerator or warm it in the microwave.  Either way, Bacon Jalapeno Chutney Bites are scrumptious!

And, if you are short on time, make a few, set them on a plate for display and place the 3 ingredients around your table and let your guests make their own!

Here’s the recipe:
