I love orange. So coming up with a list of 42 Shades of Orange was a “natural” idea for me! An homage to Halloween and autumn, this is a fun break from my ongoing, never-ending household inventory project – my infamous lists of 42!
A section of our yard in our old 99-year-old house (we lost it in the 2007 wildfires) was devoted to an “orange” garden. There I’d collected various blooming plants with orange flowers. Clumped together in one small area of our yard, they were a thrilling sight to behold (for me) when in full bloom!
Did you know there is an orange rose-bush called the Disneyland Rose? I had one of those, too. Plus, I had the most magnificent orange hibiscus bush. It had the largest hibiscus flowers I’d ever seen, the size of a dessert plate, in a delicious sunset color. Unfortunately, I don’t remember the name of the bush and try as I may, I have not {yet} been able to find another one!
Here are 42 pictures of beautiful orange things; most were taken by me and a few taken by Tiffany:
Yep. Those are pink pumpkins at the pumpkin patch! That was the name on the carton – pink pumpkins! They are a soft peachy-melon color in sharp contrast to traditional pumpkin orange.
And lest you landed on our site from an organic search of shades of orange, I won’t disappoint you. Here is my list of 42 Shades of Orange compiled from Wikipedia (I think they list 47 or 48, but I’m limiting it to 42!):
