20 Breakfast and Brunch Recipe Ideas for Christmas Morning

20 Breakfast and Brunch Recipe Ideas for Christmas Morning cover

Need some inspiration for Christmas morning?  Here are 20 Breakfast and Brunch Recipe Ideas for Christmas Morning!

Pic 1 Coffee Banana Protein Smoothie

Want something fast and healthy for breakfast that will keep you satisfied until your big Christmas Day meal?  Coffee Banana Protein Smoothie is just that – fast, healthy, satisfying.

This is my number one pinned and Google-searched recipe, driving more traffic to this blog than any other recipe!  That says something to me – Americans love their coffee, but want to combine it in a way to make a healthy, drinkable breakfast on-the-go!  Vanilla whey protein powder is the secret ingredient to keep you feeling satisfied, saving your calories for the rest of the day!

Pin this recipe to your New Year’s resolutions board!

Pic 2 Strawberry Protein Smoothie

Need a version for the kiddos?  My Strawberry Protein Smoothie is sweet and delicious! Plus, its pink!  Who doesn’t love pink?  Need a “boy” version for your sons and grandsons? Make this same smoothie with blueberries or blackberries.  Everyone will have a blast of protein to keep them going while they unwrap the presents under the Christmas tree.

Pic 3 Black Fig Parfaits

Not a smoothie lover?  Try my Black Figs Parfaits.  Made with vanilla Greek yogurt and store-bought granola, they are a quick, healthy breakfast option with enough protein to stave off hunger.

Pic 4 Goldenrod Eggs

Want to make something that’s classically old-fashioned, decadently rich and incredibly delicious? Goldenrod Eggs, taught to me by my grandfather almost 50 years ago, are yummy and creamy!  Make hard-boiled eggs ahead of time, then make the white sauce the day before.  Easy peasy to put together on Christmas morning.

Pic 5 Brown Sugar Bacon

Don’t forget to make Brown Sugar Bacon to round-out your breakfast!  Make them a few days before, store in the refrigerator and then microwave for a few minutes on Christmas morning to warm them up!

Pic 6 The Casa Bella Swedish Pancake Factory

The Casa Bella Swedish Pancake Factory recipe post actually gives readers 3 different versions of Swedish Pancakes – mine, my sister, Gail’s, and my other sister, Dawn’s!  If you are a pancake lover, any one of those 3 recipes is a winner!

Pic 7 French Toast with Maple Pecan Clusters Crunch

A French toast lover?  French Toast with Maple Pecan Clusters Crunch is a scrumptious take on a classic.

Pic 8 Cheesy Mexican Omelet

Are you a Mexican food lover?  My Cheesy Mexican Omelet is fantastic!

Pic 9 Pancetta, Potato and Broccoli Frittata

And, for Italian food lovers, Tiffany’s Pancetta, Potato and Broccoli Frittata is amazing!

Pic 10 Heart in the Hole

Kids love Toad in the Hole.  My Heart in the Hole is my Valentine’s Day version.  Use Christmas cookie cutters to make a holiday version.  Santa in the Hole, anyone?  How about Reindeer in the Hole?

Pic 11 Sweetheart Maple and Sage Sausage Patties

My Sweetheart Maple and Sage Sausage Patties are another Valentine’s Day recipe.  Use the same recipe for Christmas morning, except skip the step about making them heart-shaped.  You could make the patties the day before, refrigerate them and then cook them Christmas morning.

Pic 12 Irish Rainbow Country Potatoes

I made Irish Rainbow Country Potatoes for St. Patrick’s Day breakfast.  But, you could do the same using only red and green bell peppers for Christmas morning.

Pic 13 Green Eggs and Ham Quiche

My Green Eggs and Ham Quiche was in honor of Dr. Seuss.  Already green, it is a great Christmas morning option.

Pic 14 Denver Quiche

So is my Denver Quiche!  Just leave out the orange and yellow bell peppers and add more red and green bell peppers.

Pic 15 Cheesy Mushroom Quiche

There’s really no way to make my Cheesy Mushroom Quiche “Christmas-y”!  But, for mushroom lovers, this is a delicious breakfast.  Make any of these quiches the day before, refrigerator and then reheat in the oven on Christmas morning.  Be sure to cover the edges of the quiche with a pie shield so that they don’t burn while reheating.

Pic 16 Cheesy Layered Breakfast Hashbrown Casserole

My Cheesy Layered Breakfast Hashbrown Casserole is an “all-in-one” breakfast.  With potatoes, eggs, bacon and cheese, this is a winner!  I love to serve it with salsa and sour cream on the side.

Pic 17 Leprechaun Bagels collage

Are all of the above recipes too much work for Christmas morning?  Need a breakfast idea that is practically no work at all?  My Leprechaun Bagels with Sweet and Spice Leprechaun Cream Cheese Spread couldn’t be easier!  It’s just a block of cream cheese and jalapeno pepper jelly spread over toasted bagels.  Already green, this is a festive Christmas morning treat!  Not into the slightly spicy taste of jalapeno pepper jelly? Substitute your favorite red jam!

Pic 18 Mom's Old Fashioned Coffee Cake

Just want to have a little snack and not a full-on breakfast?  Make Mom’s Old Fashioned Coffee Cake.  Or, serve it as a side dish to eggs and bacon.

Pic 19 Mom's Old Fashioned Banana Nut Bread

Ditto with Mom’s Old Fashioned Banana Nut Bread!

Pic 20 Garden Vegetable Breakfast Burritos

Want to jump-start your New Year’s resolution to lose weight?  Last, but not least in my round-up of 20 Breakfast and Brunch Recipe Ideas for Christmas Morning, Garden Vegetable Breakfast Burritos are chalk-full of healthy veggies!

So many delicious options; in fact, 20 Breakfast and Brunch Recipe Ideas for Christmas Morning!  How to choose?  How to choose?  I think I’ll ask Charlie what he wants!

Great round up of recipes. I haven’t even thought of Christmas breakfast yet, so this helps a lot.
