Don’t we all want to eat, drink, and be Irish on St. Patrick’s Day? With that in mind, I’ve rounded up 17 Irish Toasts and made them into beautiful graphics to share.
Please feel free to share them one and/or all on social media – I’ve included both Pinterest-friendly vertical photo quotes and Facebook-friendly horizontal photos – so share away and thanks so much!
17 Irish Toasts for St. Patrick’s Day
So without further adieu, come along for the journey as we revel in the lyrical language and cadence of the Irish brogue with both funny and thoughtful Irish toasts.
NOTE: that the toast is both on the photo or graphic and below the photo or graphic. That’s because Google’s bots can’t read words on photos, so in order to take advantage of Google’s search features for all visitors, I’m including the words to each Irish toast in writing below the photo.
Here’s to cheating, stealing, fighting, and drinking.
If you cheat, may you cheat death.
If you steal, may you steal a woman’s heart.
If you fight, may you fight for a brother.
And if you drink, you drink with me.

May you live to be a hundred years.
with one extra year to repent!

The man whose pocket and purse are empty
He cannot pay like the other men,
Let this man here pay for that man there
And God will pay for the last man then.

May God bring good health to your enemies’ enemies.

may not cover the hole
in a leprechaun’s breeches.

Here’s to you as good as you are,
And to me as bad as I am,
I’m as good as you are,
Bad and all as I am!

Never above you
Never below you
Always beside you

To heaven’s alehouse be he bound.

And never want as long as you live!

The heck with you and here’s to me!

Let us drink to work well done,

May you be poor in misfortune,
rich in blessings,
slow to make enemies,
quick to make friends.
But rich or poor, quick or slow,
May you know nothing but happiness from this day forward.

Long live the Irish
Long live their cheer.
Long live our friendship
Year after year.
