Here’s a question for you: what happens when 17 girls and a baby show up at a vacation rental? A party…and, a sleep-over!
Leading into the Women Get Social conference held in San Diego this past weekend, two savvy bloggers joined forces to host a pre-conference get-together of local San Diego bloggers as well as ones flying in from out-of-town. Naming their event Sunset Millennial Summit, hostesses Chelsea of Millennial Blogs and Someday I’ll Learn and Amy of Sunset Vacation Rental and Beloved Atmosphere, delivered an intimate, candid, content-rich event.
Sunset Vacation Rental, owned by Amy and her husband, is a large, single-family 2-story home located in a beach community in San Diego. With two master suite-sized bedrooms, 2 and a half baths, fully stocked kitchen, balcony with ocean view, Amy advertises her home as “sleeping 8 to 12”. The after-party sleep-over included 9 women and the baby and her home easily accommodated all, including 9 women getting ready in the morning!
Amy’s home is fully stocked with enough towels, sheets, blankets and pillows to accommodate all and she has a hutch-full of goodies lest guests forget a personal product or two. No need to run to the drug store; check her Zen Hutch!
In addition to linens and personal products, Sunset Vacation Rental has many cozy, comfortable couches and sofas, plenty of chairs, bar stools and a long kitchen table. With 3 TVs scattered throughout the house, phones, cable and Wi-Fi internet connection, Sunset Vacation Rental is fully equipped and includes a desk/office area under a sunny window in the living area for those who just can’t leave their business life behind.
As guests arrive, our hostesses, Chelsea and Amy, ham it up for the photo-op.
My beautiful niece and blogging partner, Tiffany, laughs at those two wacky girls and I try to hold back my laughter with food in my mouth!
Actually, I’m glad they didn’t capture me with my mouth open! If so, I probably would have had spinach between my teeth! Amy made the most delicious food, complements of Whole Foods Market, and one of her dishes was an amazing Spinach and Artichoke dip! I’m going to get that recipe from her even if I have to wrestle her to the ground!
Determined that no one would leave empty-handed, Chelsea and Amy also gave us all gifts bags full of wonderful food products from Whole Foods Market. With the party in full swing, the gathered bloggers shared insight, tips, and stories from the blog-o-sphere.
Above photo: Heather from Baby Bump & Beyond, Danielle from Simmworks Family, Whitney and Heather from Rookie Moms (two Heathers bookending this photo!).
Lynnee and Pauline from Club Chica Circle share their stories of the creative effort that goes into their craft and DIY blog.
Rookie Moms, Whitney and Heather, smile for the camera. These seasoned blogging veterans have a wealth of knowledge under their belt and were speakers at the conference.
Chelsea (also a conference speaker) from Someday I’ll Learn and Heather from Baby Bump & Beyond smile for the camera as Chelsea gathers up post-it notes for the question and answer session. The girls cleverly stuck the post-it notes to the sliding glass door and used the sliding glass door as a make-shift bulletin board!
As the evening ended, hostess Amy gives Alli from Diapers -n- Heels a goodie bag from Whole Foods Market and says good-night.

I’m sending a big thank you and hug to Chelsea and Amy for hosting a wonderful weekend of sharing, bonding, nurturing, noshing and wine!
What more could 17 girls and a baby ask for?
