It’s hard to believe that I have 14 Recipes and Ideas for Valentine’s Day on this blog! But, after 2 1/2 years of blogging, eventually one has enough posts to do a round-up or two.
I love creating recipes based around a holiday theme and Valentine’s Day is no different! Those cute little heart-shaped cookie cutters got a workout from me this year and here are recipes to prove it:
BREAKFAST RECIPES
Make your family’s breakfast all about Hearts! Above is Heart in the Hole (egg in heart-shaped cutout in toast), Sweetheart Maple and Sage Sausage Patties and Sweetheart Watermelon and Arugula Salad.

LUNCH RECIPES
Have a few Sweetheart Maple and Sage Sausage Patties leftover from breakfast? Plus, the cutouts from Heart in the Hole? Pack them in your children’s lunch. Add some Chocolate-covered Strawberries for a special treat.

APPETIZER RECIPES
Want to make your Valentine’s Day extra special for your family, spouse or sweetheart? Start with a simple appetizer like Sweetheart Cream Cheese Spread served with pita chips.
Or these adorable and delicious Sweetheart Strawberry Crostini.
For a salad recipe, Sweetheart Strawberry Salad with Blushing Berry Dressing is the perfect size for two. Serve it in a heart-shaped dish with 2 forks and eat it together – right out of the bowl.
DINNER
Keeping with the heart-shaped theme, serve your honey (or honeys) Sweetheart Steak and Potato Pot Pie for dinner.
DESSERT
Sweetheart Pie Crust Cookies are easy to make and delicious! With that sweet/salty thing going on, they are a bit addicting.
Fresh Strawberry Pie is a quick and easy dessert to throw together. Plus it’s delicious – as good as any restaurant’s pie!
Strawberry Cake is always a shop-stopper. Just don’t do what I did unless you decided to make it for Halloween!
With just a little bit of extra effort, you could make Sweetheart Strawberry Pie – so pretty!
PARTIES AND TABLESCAPES
Don’t forget to set the mood and do a bit of Valentine’s Day decorating! In Decorating the Table for a Valentine’s Day Celebration, I show readers how I decorated for Valentine’s Day without actually having very many Valentine’s Day-theme items – just a lot of things that are red and white.
Having a get-together or tea with girlfriends? Make it super easy and special by having an Easy Valentine Candy and Cookie Buffet.
And, while you’re decorating (or undecorating later), take a few minutes and do a quick inventory to add to your household inventory binder. 42 Valentine’s Day Decorations in Your Home includes a FREE printable to help you get started.
CRAFTS
Here’s an easy project to do with your kids. Tiffany, Princess P and Princess Sweetie Pie made DIY Valentine Bookmarks for all of us a few years ago. I still use my Auntie Carole bookmark all the time and every time I do, I think of them: the gift that keeps on giving!
And, Tiffany and her girls made this cute DIY Valentine Heart Plaque. It includes a FREE Printable.
