I starting creating this post on 10 FREE Spring and Easter Printables a few weeks ago, because while I consider myself pretty good at creating in PicMonkey, the actual creative process takes time. I enjoy creating things in PicMonkey, using the “Design Your Own” feature as a “blank slate” and mulling over what to design, which of their many cute overlays to use, and how to make something that is suitable for printing and framing.
These 10 FREE Spring and Easter Printables are happy messages of the promise of better things to come. And, that was my intent.
Then life interfered and I’ve had an extremely difficult week on an emotional roller-coaster ride, blind-sided by unexpected events out of my control. Even saying “I’ve had an extremely difficult week” fills me with guilt because how can I say “I’ve had” when my loved ones are in unimaginable distress? How can I feel overwhelmed by what is swirling around me when they are actually living it?
My husband, Charlie, was transported to ER last Friday, admitted to the ICU at our local medical center and remained there until yesterday, when he was transferred to a different unit and out of danger. The story is long and complicated (so for another day), but he is on the road to recovery and will, hopefully, be discharged to home sometime this week.
In the meantime, my childless aunt (my mother’s twin), was also transported to ER in critical condition. So, I had both of them in the same hospital at the same time (a small blessing). At 84-years-old, her situation is dire and she is not expected to recover. And, this too, is a very long story for another day when I have more emotional strength to share it.
But with Spring in full bloom here in Southern California, the birds singing, chirping and twittering in a symphony of promise and with Easter around the corner, I’m challenged by these reminders of hope, renewal and rebirth to remember that while life zigs when you want it to zag, God has a plan in his infinite wisdom and we must embrace that in order to move forward.
I will be posting intermittently probably for the next several weeks as I learn how to settle into our “new normal”. In the meantime, I hope you enjoy these 10 FREE Spring and Easter Printables that I created for you, my readers, and I thank you for continuing to visit, stopping by to see what’s new at Toot Sweet 4 Two.
